Founded in 2007 by Miguel Pires, Housatlier Lda has built a solid foundation of architectural and engineering excellence over nearly two decades, shaping projects throughout Portugal and abroad.

From that experience and from a long-standing friendship and shared vision between Miguel Pires and David Rupino, the idea of VADO was born. Conceived many years ago, while both were still architecture students, VADO began as a philosophy: a way to connect people, light, and nature through design.

With extensive experience across several architectural practices and on-site construction management, and after more than eight years leading his own studio, David Rupino – Soluções Integradas de Arquitetura, David now joins forces with Housatlier to give full form to that shared vision. His independent studio and broad professional background, from concept to construction, become part of a larger creative platform where knowledge, precision, and innovation converge.

In 2023, that vision took tangible shape as VADO, the creative brand of Housatlier Lda, co-founded by Miguel Pires and David Rupino. VADO represents a new generation of architecture, collaborative, international, and deeply human. The studio blends technical mastery with artistic sensibility, creating timeless spaces shaped by landscape, material, and emotion. VADO operates as a collective studio, bringing together architects, engineers, designers, and consultants under a shared belief in integrated design ensuring every project is both technically refined and emotionally resonant.
